WELLNESS APP

Brief

Create a platform that provides users with personalized mental health support, tools and resources to manage their anxiety symptoms. The idea is to find new and existing features to reduce their anxiety symptoms through a mobile app to help users implement these routines to daily life. The app will include features such as guided meditations, breathing exercises, daily mood tracking, stress reduction techniques, and other resources. The app will also allow users to track their progress and set goals for managing their anxiety.

Goal

The goal of the anxiety help app is to provide users with accessible and personalized mental health support by using a combination of self-help tools, professional support, and personalized recommendations, the app aims to empower users to take an active role in their mental health and well-being.

Overall, these competitors offer similar features and functionalities for anxiety management. However, each app has its unique strengths and weaknesses. Understanding the strengths and weaknesses of competitors did help us to identify opportunities to differentiate and improve our app. Some areas of opportunity for an anxiety help app could be to offer more affordable or free options, provide more community support features, and offer unique customization options.

Anxiety has wide spectrum there are different types of anxieties that’s why we decide to focus on most common 3 types of anxiety those are;
  • Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD): GAD is characterized by excessive and persistent worry and anxiety about various aspects of life, such as work, school, relationships, and health.

  • Social Anxiety Disorder: Social anxiety disorder, also known as social phobia, is characterized by a persistent fear of social situations and the fear of being judged or evaluated by others.

  • Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD): OCD is characterized by intrusive and persistent thoughts, images, or impulses (obsessions) that cause anxiety and repetitive behaviors or mental acts (compulsions) that aim to reduce the anxiety.

User Research

The next step in UX process we conducted user research which did help us to understand the user’s needs, pain points and preferences. Through this step, we were able to conduct user research by sending out surveys to our target audience, as well as conducting interviews with individuals who have experienced anxiety symptoms.
We conducted in-person interviews with 5 participants who have experience managing anxiety.
The interviews lasted about an hour and covered topics such as the participants' experience with anxiety, their current methods of managing anxiety, and what they would like to see in an anxiety help app.
Our interviews revealed that the participants found it challenging to manage their anxiety in social situations and that they would like an app that provides guidance and support for managing anxiety in public.
They also expressed a need for a wide range of anxiety management techniques, such as mindfulness and breathing exercises.

Quantitave Analysis

We sent out online surveys to a sample of 50 individuals who have reported experiencing symptoms of anxiety in the past. The survey was designed to gather quantitative data on their demographics, anxiety symptoms, and preferences for an anxiety help app.

Our survey results showed that the majority of participants preferred an anxiety help app that provided guided relaxation and mindfulness exercises, as well as resources for finding professional help. Additionally, participants expressed a preference for cost free app option.

Overall, our user research highlighted the importance of providing a range of anxiety management techniques and support options, as well as a clean, simple and cost free app design. This information will help us design an anxiety help app that meets the needs and preferences of our target audience.

We believe that creating this app with specific features for those struggling with different types of anxiety will achieve many user’s goal not only by reducing anxiety on the spot, but helping create new habits and skills to be able to manage their issues in the future all whilst maintaining that one on one atmosphere user’s need and want. We will know if we are right or wrong with qualitative feedback from users.

Testing

Either/Or

We conduct an either/or testing with a group of users and asks them to choose which design they prefer based on ease of use, visual appeal, and clarity of information and color.By using either/or testing, the we were able to gather valuable feedback from users and make an informed decision about which design would be most effective in meeting their needs and preferences.

Beta Testing

We received positive feedback from users during beta testing. Users reported feeling more in control of their anxiety symptoms and appreciated the personalized support provided by the app. The progress tracking feature was especially helpful for users, as it helped them identify patterns and triggers in their anxiety symptoms.

Conclusion

Through user research and design solutions, we created a mobile app that provides users with effective tools and resources for managing anxiety symptoms and promoting mental well-being. By designing a user-friendly and intuitive interface, we aim to improve accessibility and encourage regular use of the app.
